As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads throughout the world, many companies and projects have been severely disrupted and forced to quickly change or adapt. CORE is no exception, however with our technology we can make a positive contribution to businesses and individuals which means that this is also an opportunity where we can be our best.
At CORE, we have decided to use our already proven technology to help flatten the curve. The effect is that we are refocussing away from CORE for performance sports and instead concentrating our efforts and production to assist on health and well-being application.
It is important to be aware that CORE is not an FDA approved medical device and we do not make any claims to this effect as we are a young company and are not ready to initiate the FDA and medCE approval processes.
However CORE continuously monitors core body temperature in real time with great accuracy (and is a very convenient device) which means it can detect and monitor fevers. One of the well documented traits of Covid-19 is that some infected people (and a result are unaware and may unknowingly infect others). For this reason, the CORE monitor has been recognised for the application for health and well-being.
Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have received requests from all over the world, including governments, where they have a real need for continuous monitoring and the following specific applications:
- Monitor critical at-risk workforce (e.g. nurses, doctors, police, public transport workers)
- Monitoring of patients on the general ward
- Reduce the workload of nurses, and help with the triage for ICU
- Monitoring representative demographic set of the population for early detection and localisation of any pandemic wave
- Monitoring people in quarantine
CORE could be used to monitor individuals on a large scale, providing early signs for COVID-19 infections, as well as helping to control the pandemic. In this diagram, we show how the monitoring system might work.We believe that all these goals are worth-pursuing and can help to make a difference. Therefore, we have accelerated our production and doing all we can to get CORE to those that have a real need for remote continuous monitoring of core body temperature.
While this removes our focus on CORE for sports performance for the time-being, we feel that with this approach we are also taking a better path and are contributing to society, like so many individuals, organisations and businesses at the moment to make a positive impact.
