Methods such as pulmonary artery catheters, urinary bladder, or esophageal probes are limited to hospitals. Rectal thermometers are often uncomfortable for participants, while ingestible thermometer pills are costly and require precise timing. Other available devices cannot provide continuous and accurate monitoring.
