Over the past several years, we have been developing the technology for the CORE Body Temperature monitoring device with the expertise of our engineers and the assistance and guidance of medical researchers and sports professionals.
In 2020 we were finally ready to move swiftly into production and launch the CORE, however as the globe faced a new health threat from the Covid-19 Pandemic and demand shifted, the emphasis refocussed on health and wellbeing. The development and refinement for performance sports was paused as this was no longer the priority.
As the pandemic unfolded throughout the world, we received many inquiries from organizations and companies about the possibility of using our technology to help protect their at-risk workers and vulnerable people. Like many individuals and businesses who have reacted swiftly to benefit society, we were also motivated to fast-track our production and ramp-up availability.
Our staff and suppliers have been working overtime to ensure that from May 2020, the CORE has been available for purchase. This has been on a first-come-first-serve basis along with a priority for businesses and entities which have health and well-being applications such as seeking to reduce risks for their staff.
What does this mean for Sports and CORE?
The initial impact is a delay in the development and release of CORE for performance sports. From a hardware perspective, the CORE is identical, and current CORE units can be upgraded.
In practice, the sports accuracy algorithm demands further testing and development to ensure that it has the level of accuracy and consistency that is required. Workplace and everyday health and well-being are less demanding when it comes to tracking core body temperature. During sporting activity, the body faces more extreme changes, particularly for extreme athletes who push their limits.
The good news is that with the dedication of our engineers, athletes and coaches along with extensive testing, we are improving the accuracy and will be able to meet the expectations when we release.
The other part of the equation is connectability and with the ANT+ and bluetooth capabilities have been working with established electronics and software brands to encourage and support integration.
The good news is that on current CORE devices, the accompanying phone apps will automatically upgrade the CORE firmware enabling higher accuracy for performance sports. So today's devices will support tomorrow's highly accurate sports algorithm.

Warning: CORE is not a medical device
It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. CORE should be used by healthy adults in a stable environment and is only meant to inform you about your overall wellbeing. No medical advice can be concluded from the measured temperature data, and it cannot replace the services of health care professionals. Deviations from the normal body temperature range should be investigated by a health care professional and no conclusion regarding your health can be drawn from a core temperature that is within the healthy range. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of the temperature measurements by CORE. To read the full disclaimer click here.
